Streamlining for success
Detego is an RFID technology company founded in Graz in 2005 and taken over in 2011 by Enso, a Venture Fund headquartered in London.
Challenge
When Enso took over Detego the company was struggling. Despite its disruptive technology, Detego’s market positioning and distribution model were failing and the founding team were overwhelmed by increasing complexity.
Action
We found industry experts to help us to streamline Detego’s strategy, market positioning and distribution model, moving from highly adjustable solutions for different industries that needed to be implemented by an internal sales or engineer force to shelf-ready products for the retail industry distributed through a network of vendors and agents.
We reviewed and redesigned the organisational structure as well as conducted an assessment of key managers. We attracted an experienced Chief Executive Officer from the industry and a Chief Marketing Officer with the required specialist knowledge.
Impact
The strategy was successful and Detego started winning big contracts with companies such as Adidas, G-Star Raw and Marc O’Polo.
We helped the company to dramatically grow their revenues from hundreds of thousands to to multi-millions within three years.
Detego is now well positioned to be acquired by a strategic investor.
