Luxottica Group is one of the world's largest companies in the eyewear industry. As a vertically integrated company, Luxottica designs, manufactures, distributes and retails its eyewear brands. The company also makes sunglasses and prescription frames for big designer brands.
Challenge
The European Headquarters decided to change the company’s route-to-market in Europe from a partnership with a local distributor to its own subsidiary.
Luxottica planned to set up their own organisation to fully utilise the growing market potential, to better serve their local clients and to control the supply chain.
Action
We designed an organisational structure with detailed job descriptions and a budget structure for all key functions and positions.
This was followed by an executive search for key roles including Marketing Director, Finance Director and HR Director.
Impact
Luxottica established its local presence and took over the market development initiative from the local distributors.
The management team put in place have been stable for several years. They successfully built the company and are currently carrying out regional expansion.
Luxottica is ready for its next step of development following international integration with a partner company from a complementary industry.
